You continue kneeling for a few moments, then gingerly raise your eyes.

“So,” you begin, “what should we do now?” With a gentle, partial smile, you continue looking up at her from my kneeling position. “Tell me--how do you like to pass the time?”

Kihawahini now towers above you, her form more lizard than humanoid. She speaks, but her lips remain motionless. Her words seem to simply enter your mind.

“You are a strange creature.” A noise escapes her thin lips--one that you hope is laughter. “I will enjoy having you as my Koa.” Her head turns, as if considering your words. “I like to swim, and pull moonbeams behind me. There are... creatures... on a nameless rock in the Cerenerian sea. They remind me of the people of Ib. Sometimes swim past them.”

She pauses for some time, her tail extending into the unseen depths of the lake.

“How,” she continues, “do you like to pass the time?”
